Outage
NewsThere was an outage today due to DOS attack. My VPS provider temporarily took the server offline to stop the network traffic. I'm not sure if we're in the clear yet but I wanted to give a heads up.
Spammers
For a short period, spammers where able to register to the site, causing spam on the forum. the issue is fixed, but some spammers are allready registered. If we see them we will delete them.

Update: the site now automaticly blocks existing spammers.
Web Hosting change complete
The OGP site has been successfully migrated to it's new home. If you notice any issues, like broken links etc, please post in the forum, or PM xgregx.
Thanks!
Web Hosting move
NewsI am going to move this site to a new server soon. There will be minimal impact to users. All site data will be migrated as well, so the forum contents, users, downloads, etc. will all remain the same.
The only impact that should be noticed by users is that the site will be put in maintenance mode during the migration. It may take a day or so for DNS records to update across the globe. When you no longer see the site maintenance message, you'll know you're on the new server.
Thanks,
Greg
New OGP Rsync URL
NewsHello all! I have setup a new rsync server, rsync.opengamepanel.org which will replace the current opengamepanel.org rsync site.
rsync://rsync.opengamepanel.org is up and running. I suggest you make changes to any scripts or cron jobs that reference the old rsync site.
The rsync updater in SVN has been updated with this new site.
New Feature - Rsync Install/Update
NewsThe rsync install/update feature is now in SVN!
I have been testing, and it is working really well.
You'll need to download the latest SVN of both the agent and the web panel.
There are no database changes, only a few file updates.
You can simply rename your existing OGP web directory and copy the new SVN version in. Then copy over your themes and config.inc.php file to the new directory.
The servers running the agent will need to have the rsync client installed. Most Linuxes have it by default. To check, logon as the user that runs your agent and type which rsync. It should say /usr/bin/rsync.
If the rsync command is in a different path, make sure you adjust the the following file - agentdir/File/Rsync/Config.pm

The games currently hosted on Rsync are UrbanTerrror, Warsow, Nexuiz, and SmokinGuns(quake3). I hope to add more soon. Games available through steam will not be added to rsync.
The games on rsync are extracted exactly as they are from hosts that provide them with no alterations. You have to make any config adjustments just as if you downloaded and unzipped yourself.

To try this new feature, add a game home and configure, assign to a user, and go to it in Game Manager. You will see a new "Rsync Install" link.
This feature will install and update games.
When creating another game home of a game that has already been installed with rsync, please use the "Clone Home" feature. It will save time and bandwidth not having to download the files again.

See the FAQ section for setting up an Rsync mirror
Happy New Year
NewsHappy New Year to all! I hope your 2010 was great, and wish you all a happy and prosperous 2011.
Hopefully I will have more time to work on OGP. I miss working on it, and look forward to coding again.
Thank you to everyone in the community who finds OGP to be a good useful too.
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions in the forums.
Greg
Server/IP change
NewsUPDATE -- If you are reading this update, the migration is complete and you are using the new server.
Thanks and sorry for any downtime.
This website will soon be migrated to another server and IP address.
It might take some time for DNS to update.
The old site will be locked and put in maintenance mode once the new site site goes live.
Nothing will change - all user and forum data will be migrated.
Thanks!
IRC Support channel
NewsHi,

I created an IRC channel for ogp, where users can ask help and discuss about the OGP in realtime. This might get some problems easier to solve. I hope to see most of you there.

#ogp @ QuakeNet

If you are new to IRC you can easily connect to QuakeNet with following webpage: http://webchat.quakenet.org/. Enter you nick name and #ogp as the channel and click connect.

Regards,
Sage
